Study finds Hair Stimulation Following Laser and IPL - Intense Pulse Light Treatments

A study published in "Lasers in Surgery and Medicine"2007, carried out by Oregon Health & Science University on *the effects of hair stimulation following Laser and IPL treatments, concluded that 10.49% of the 543 patients treated suffered an increase of hair growth in the area that was treated by the laser and the area bordering the treated area. Also the hair appeared thicker and darker then the hair initially treated.  An additional 8.10% of patients demonstrated no apparent reduction of hair and only 2.5% were discharge with near completion of hair reduction.

I have found this to be true in my Electrolysis clinic.  Many clients have had many Laser treatments and are not getting the permeant results they desire and some see very little hair reduction or burns on their skin, while others have an increase in hair growth.  Electrolysis is still the only method of permanent hair removal that is scientifically proven.  Viewed as "old fashioned" and an out dated treatment in recent years, I'm finding many people are now returning to Electrolysis for a permeant result.
